"DO YOU WANT AN ELECTED MAYOR?": Baz Gaz, 19 July, Front Page.

No thanks. I don't think I do! :) I think Independent Councillor Martin Biermann sums it up pretty well, as per his quote on this matter on Page 2 of today's Baz Gaz.

“Elected mayor 'could speed up decisions'”: Baz Gaz, 19 July, Page 2.

Quote:
... Independent Councillor Martin Biermann said: “These plans are another gimmick. I don’t see what having a pumped-up personality as an elected mayor would do for us and I don’t detect any groundswell of opinion for it.”

Following on from Councillor Biermann's comments...

"£180,000 bill for mayor referendum": Baz Gaz, 22 July, Page 5.

 Perhaps not such a good idea then and another reason not to change?

"Ex-vice chairman fires broadside at committee": Baz Gaz, 5 August, Page 6.

Now, that's an interesting read in respect of the Mayoral debacle!

"Inquiries into 'misconduct'": Baz Gaz, 5 August, Page 6.
