"Wine makes daily living easier, less hurried, with fewer tensions and more tolerance." Benjamin Franklin]
Do you like a lovely glass of wine with your dinner, or to wind down with at the end of the day? Do you know the history of the wine you are drinking, the vineyard where the grapes were grow or the winery it was made, even the winemakers name? Are you interested to know more? Would you like to get to know more about that glass of wine you have in your hand in a relaxed social atmosphere? If the answer is yes to the majority of the questions, then there is a place nearby to do so. HANNINGTON WINE SOCIETYMeets in the Function Room of the Vine Pub, Hannington the second Thursday of the month. The meetings begin at 8 pm and usually end around 10 pm. We have people from wine merchants, wine companies, wine agencies etc., all with a great deal of knowledge and a love of wine, visit each month to talk and give tastings about a particular area, grape, company etc., this gives you the opportunity to taste and learn about wines from all over the world. The present members are a very friendly band of people who would welcome you very warmly. No one is an wine expert or wine buff, so you would not feel out of place, even if you came by yourself. You do not have to know anything about wine other than have a liking for a good glass of wine. The next meeting is Rhone Wines by Daniel Orsolini of Orso Wines on Thursday 8th September at 8 pm. If you would like to come to this meeting please contact me by one of the below. Still interested?visit
