Saturday 16 August, 2:00 - 4:00pm. In and around Old Down Hall, Kempshott Lane.
Old Down and Beggarwood Wildlife Group is holding an Open Day as one of BBC Breathing Places and part of Basingstoke Wildlife Week.
This is a FREE family event for adults and children to find out more about the wildlife and plants on Old Down and to encourage people to 'do one thing for nature'.
A key attraction is a visit from Jim Chick of the Hawk Board and Country Pursuit, who will show around 6 of his birds of prey, including a fabulous African Fish Eagle and several native British species. A flying display will take place subject to suitable weather conditions - bring your binoculars! See
www.countrypursuit.info for more details on the birds of prey.
There are also fun nature activities for children, including face painting (kindly sponsored by The Jolly Farmer, Cliddesden).
Come along and ask us about our ideas for Old Down, what's already here and how we want to improve the habitat for wildlife and people.
It will be an all-weather event, with indoor and outdoor activities, based in and around Old Down Hall, top of Kempshott Lane. Refreshments and toilets on site. Parking limited, so please walk if you are able.
